Here are some common exercises for post-total knee replacement recovery: 1. **Ankle Pumps:** While lying down, flex and point your ankle to promote blood circulation and prevent blood clots. 2. **Quad Sets:** Sit with your leg extended and straight. Tighten your thigh muscles and press the back of your knee into the floor or bed. Hold for a few seconds. 3. **Heel Slides:** Lie down and slowly bend your knee by sliding your heel toward your buttocks. Gently slide it back to the starting position. 4. **Knee Extensions:** Sit in a chair with your feet flat on the ground. Straighten your surgical leg as much as you can and hold briefly. 5. **Leg Raises:** While lying down, raise your surgical leg off the bed a few inches while keeping your knee straight. 6. **Hip Abduction/Adduction:** While lying down, move your surgical leg outward and inward, focusing on engaging your hip muscles. 7. **Prone Hangs:** While lying face down on a bed or table, let your surgical leg hang over the edge to help improve knee extension.
